A new Netflix miniseries has got subscribers talking.
Netflix has recently launched a new series that dives deep into the life of a figure dubbed βthe godfather of rough sex,β and itβs causing quite a stir among viewers.
Some are so outraged that theyβve threatened to cancel their Netflix subscriptions in protest.
The streaming giant is no stranger to airing content on risquΓ© subjects, having previously released βMoney Shot: The P*rnhub Storyβ last year and the controversial β365 Daysβ trilogy.
However, its latest offering, a miniseries titled βSupersex,β has sparked accusations from viewers that Netflix is pushing the boundaries too far, with some saying itβs βmaking p*rn mainstreamβ.
βSupersexβ has received praise from critics, earning an 86 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
The series is βlooselyβ based on the life story of Rocco Siffredi, a legendary p*rn star who made a significant impact on the industry with over 1,300 films to his name, known especially for his βgodfather of rough sexβ persona.
The direction of βSupersexβ is quite evident from its premise.
Alessandro Borghi, the actor portraying Rocco Siffredi, shared with the Italian news outlet Today that he participated in an astonishing 50 sex scenes over the course of 95 days of filming.
Given its explicit content, itβs no surprise that the drama is strictly intended for audiences aged 18 and above.
Nevertheless, the explicit nature of βSupersexβ has sparked considerable backlash among Netflix subscribers.
This reaction was especially pronounced following the brief sharing of an X-rated scene from the series on Netflixβs US Instagram account, which was subsequently removed.
The Daily Star reported that the controversial scene featured Borghi shirtless among several scantily clad women, engaging in suggestive movements, leaving the specifics of the scene to the audienceβs imagination.
Subscribers expressed their outrage in comments captured in screenshots by the Mail Online, with one stating:
βNow we have p*rn on Netflix as well? Cancelling account while we speak, my kids canβt see this.β
Another concerned viewer added, βIsnβt this inappropriate for a platform where KIDS FOLLOW YOU?!β
The criticism didnβt stop there, with another commenter questioning the mainstream acceptance of such explicit content:
βAre we just making p*rn mainstream now? Itβs pretty sickening that there is no warning on explicit content like this. Yet women who post a picture breastfeeding are flagged.β
βThis should be a separate category on Netflix if you want to put stuff like this out.β
In an interview with LADbible prior to the release of βSupersex,β Rocco Siffredi addressed potential viewer shock, explaining:
βFor sure. I never, ever like to tell you one part of me, I always say everything. You either like it or you donβt, this is who I am;β
βI could never be who I am without showing everything about myself.β

He further elaborated on the seriesβ focus, βThe part shown on Netflix, which people donβt know, is the way I grew up, the way my life came up since I was a child.β
βHow did I grow up? What were the situations involved in my life? So this is the main Rocco, really, which people donβt know, most people know me just in front of the camera, naked.β
βSupersexβ is available for streaming on Netflix, amidst ongoing debate and controversy.
