A Patient Approach by the Roadside

Upon receiving information about an abandoned dog family, the rescue team rushed to the scene. There, they spotted a protective mother dog doing everything she could to keep her small puppies safe from the ongoing traffic. Having experienced the harsh realities of being abandoned on the streets, the mother dog was incredibly fearful, anxious, and hesitant to let any human get close to her.

The volunteers knew that any rushed or aggressive movement could panic her, causing her to bolt onto the busy highway and lead to a tragic accident. They began using gentle, comforting words in the local language, repeatedly calling out, “Dođi mama” (Come here, mama), while offering tasty food to slowly build trust and calm her nerves.

The Moment of Absolute Safety

Through unwavering patience and careful positioning to block her from running toward the active road, the rescuers finally managed to secure her safely. Warm words of praise and comfort: “Bravo zdravo mama, ne brini ljubavi…” (Good job, mama, don’t worry, my love…) echoed as they gently took the vulnerable dog into their arms.

With the mother dog safe, the team carefully gathered her beautiful puppies hiding nearby. Everyone breathed a massive sigh of relief knowing that this fragile little family was officially out of harm’s way. They wrapped them up and put them into the rescue vehicle, heading toward the shelter where a secure, warm, and love-filled life finally awaited them.
