Veteran *Goodfellas* and *Halloween* Actor Found Dead at Home

Beau Starr, an actor well-known for his memorable performances in both the Halloween franchise and the cinematic classic Goodfellas, has passed away at 81 years old.

The heartbreaking news was verified by his younger sibling and fellow performer, Mike Starr. He disclosed that Beau died peacefully from natural causes at his residence in Vancouver, Canada, on April 24, 2026.

Long before he found his footing in the acting world, the Queens native (born September 1, 1944) chased a professional path in American football. He suited up for the Montreal Alouettes and the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in the CFL, and additionally dedicated three seasons to the taxi squad of the New York Jets.

Christopher Serrone, his castmate from Goodfellas, honored Starr’s memory, describing him as a “great guy” who experienced a “rich and meaningful life” as a dedicated family man, athlete, and actor.

He kicked off his acting journey in his mid-30s, securing his initial on-screen appearance on a Canadian sketch comedy program in 1980.

However, it was on the silver screen where Starr truly cemented his most unforgettable parts. He appeared alongside Hollywood heavyweights like Robert De Niro, Joe Pesci, and Ray Liotta in the legendary mobster classic Goodfellas, taking on the role of the father to the central character, Henry Hill.

Following that massive film, Starr portrayed Sheriff Ben Meeker in both Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers and its sequel, Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers.
