Tornado Devastates Clark Mills, Claims Lives
On June 22, 2025, an EF-1 tornado struck Clark Mills, New York, with winds of 105 mph, killing six-year-old twin sisters Emily and Kenni Bisson. The storm hit at 3:58 a.m., collapsing the roof of their home while they slept with their mother, Kayleigh, who survived but was trapped under debris.

Neighbors and Crews Rush to Help
Neighbors and first responders worked quickly to rescue Kayleigh, but the twins were found dead in the wreckage. The tornado also killed another resident, Shelly Johnson, when a tree crashed through her roof. Two others were seriously injured in a separate incident nearby.

Community in Mourning
The twins’ school, Clinton Elementary, canceled classes and brought in grief counselors. A GoFundMe for the Bisson family, who had recently moved into the home, raised over $300,000 as the community offered support.

State Emergency Declared
Governor Hochul declared a state of emergency across 32 counties due to storm damage and heat. Emergency teams are still working to clear debris and restore power in Clark Mills as recovery efforts continue.
