On Nov. 4, Quincy Jones’ publicist Arnold Robinson revealed the legendary music producer has died, the Associated Press reported.
Jones worked with the best of the best during his career, including Frank Sinatra, Michael Jackson, Ray Charles and so many more.
He was 91 years old at the time of his death.
According to Robinson, Jones died Sunday night, Nov. 3, at his Bel Air home. He was surrounded by family.
On Nov. 2, Jones took to Instagram for the final time. He shared a photo of himself and his daughter, Martina Jones, who was celebrating her birthday.
“Happy Birthday to my Tina Beena,” Jones wrote in the caption. “So proud to be yo papa! Big hug, I love you eternally.”
Jones was also a father to Kidada Jones, Quincy Jones III, Jolie Jones Levine, Kenya Kinski-Jones, Rachel Jones and actress Rashida Jones.
In a statement shared with the AP, his family said, “Tonight, with full but broken hearts, we must share the news of our father and brother Quincy Jones’ passing.”
“And although this is an incredible loss for our family, we celebrate the great life that he lived and know there will never be another like him.”
Over his illustrious career, Jones earned 80 Grammy nominations and 7 Academy Award nominations. He won 28 of those Grammy Awards.
According to the AP, “Jones was to have received an honorary Academy Award later this month.”
