Natalia Sakado was born and raised in St. Petersburg. Since childhood, she showed an interest in languages, and after finishing school, she entered the pedagogical institute, where she began teaching English while still a student.

Her life was going along as usual until she met students from Ghana in 2008. At that time, Natalia knew little about the distant country in West Africa, but this meeting changed her destiny.

Among the students was Frank, a serious and straightforward young man. For six months they simply saw each other in the company of mutual friends, without even communicating.

But at some point Frank plucked up his courage and approached Natalia with an unexpected proposal: to start dating to get to know each other better and eventually get married.

His directness and amazed confidence the girl, and she decided to give this unusual story a chance.

On May 29, 2011, Natalia and Frank got married at the registry office in St. Petersburg, and a month later they got married in a Lutheran church. Frank graduated from college, and soon after, they decided to move to Ghana to start a new life.

When Natalia became pregnant, she encountered an unexpected side of intercultural marriage. One day, she received a frightening message from a stranger on one of the social networks.

He accused her of betraying her homeland, writing that she “gave herself to a lizard, and now she will give birth to a child with green blood.” These words frightened Natalia so much that she could not come to her feelings for a long time.

When their first child was born, Natalia was afraid to go for walks with him. Every time she went outside, she looked around, fearing threats.

It was only after moving to Ghana that she finally felt safe. There she was welcomed warmly and her fears gradually dissipated.

Now Natalia has never regretted her choice. Frank has been working as a doctor for a long time, and she herself runs a blog on social networks, having collected more than a million subscribers.

She shares her life with her subscribers, talks about family, intercultural traditions and raising children. Together with Frank, they are raising four children: Martin, David and twins Leon and Lena.
