Coming to terms with the fact that this same little girl has blossomed into a stunning young woman ready to become a wife and possibly a mother can be overwhelming for any dad. Typically, these dances are simple gatherings where both father and daughter sway to a gentle melody, exchanging laughter and perhaps a few tears. However, when Mikayla Ellison was about to start her journey as a married woman, she and her dad had something unique in mind that deviated from the conventional father-daughter dance. You see, Mikayla is part of the BYU International Folk Dance team, and her dad has some moves of his own. They kick off their wedding dance in the traditional slow style, but as the music shifts, they unleash their true routine.
There was no chance that these two would agree to a slow and boring father-daughter dance. After all, it was her wedding day, and Mikayla and her dad were determined to have a proper celebration. And celebrate they did with a lively and funky dance routine that thrilled the crowd and ignited the dance floor!
