Back in 2016, Wanda Dench, then 65, from Arizona texted the number she thought belonged to her grandson and invited him for the holiday – but the number actually belonged to then-17-year-old Jamal Hinton.
Rather than ignore the unknown number, the pair sent each other selfies, with Jamal replying: “You’re not my grandma,” before asking if he could still “get a plate” at the dinner.
The sweet grandma responded: “Of course, you can. That’s what grandmas do… feed everyone.”
The accidental text was the start of something special as it led to an unlikely friendship and a cherished tradition for eight years.
This year, things were a little different for the pair as Dench recently revealed that she was diagnosed with breast cancer.
Her health struggles began earlier this year following a bronchitis diagnosis. A subsequent CT scan intended to check her lungs unexpectedly revealed a mass in her breast.
“That’s when a mass in my breast was detected and they suggested I get a mammogram and that verified I had breast cancer,” Dench explained in the statement, shared on social media via Hinton.
As the grandma – who lost her husband Lonnie in 2020 – began chemotherapy treatments, she was unable to meet with Hinton for their 9th annual dinner.
“I just recently finished up with chemotherapy, so I’m not 100% yet. And I live about two hours away from where Jamal lives. And so we decided that this year would be best for my health if I stayed at home,” she said, cited by The Mirror.
“We will FaceTime with each other. I was looking so forward to meeting his family and having turkey with everybody, but we have to accept things the way they are, and I’m sure next year is going to be so much better,” Dench added.
Instead, the lovely friends reunited on Instagram Live.
Check it out below:
The unique bond not only captured the hearts around the country but also the executives on Netflix who announced in 2021 that they will release a film about Hinton and Dench.
While the movie, titled The Thanksgiving Text, has yet to drop, the streaming service said that it will highlight the text mix-up and the lifelong friendship that followed.
“We hope it inspires more people to reach out and make connections that they wouldn’t ordinarily make,” the pair said in a statement shared by Netflix at the time. “We are so blessed to find a genuine friendship brought together by God from a mistaken text message.”

Corinna Kopf first became known to YouTube audiences after joining David Dobrik’s group, the Vlog Squad.
In 2016, Kopf launched her own account on the video-sharing platform where she shared different content ranging from her everyday life, hangouts with friends, and tours of homes and apartments.
She accumulated a following of 1.7 million subscribers on the network but hasn’t uploaded a video in four years.
The 28-year-old decided to shift her focus to her Instagram and OnlyFans, with the latter being launched in 2021. It was an immediate money-maker for Kopf, as she became one of the most prominent creators on the subscription platform.

Kopf earned “a little over” $1 million within 48 hours of launching her profile on the 18+ site, and after four years she made a shocking $67 million – which was enough to retire from the subscription.
The influencer took to X (formerly Twitter) to share a short announcement about her retirement, writing: “No more link in bio ……,” suggesting she would no longer promote her content to her millions of followers.
The former creator clarified her decision in follow-up posts, writing: “So… I haven’t actually retired from that site just yet but I do want to try and separate from it slowly over the next couple of months.”
She also addressed her followers, who have criticized her for walking away from a substantial amount of money.
“If you want me to be super and I mean SUPER transparent I hate being on the site/ how i’m looked at by others but i’m currently building a home and walking away from $300,000+ dollars a month seems a little…stupid [grinning face with sweat emoji],” she wrote in another post.
Well, Kopf’s fans can rest easy as it seems like the influencer has decided to make a comeback on OnlyFans – one month after announcing her “retirement”.
Kopf took to X to share a link to her OF page with a risque picture of her in a bikini alongside the caption “surprise” alongside a wide-eyed emoji.
It seems like the post delighted many fans as it earned 125K likes and 12.3 million viewers.
“COMING OUTTA RETIREMENT LIKE TOM BRADY,” one user quipped, while another exclaimed: “BAE UNRETIRED!!!!”

Earlier this week, the American music and entertainment magazine took to social media to announce Swift as the second greatest pop star of the 21st century.
As part of the honor, the brand released a video commemorating some of the 34-year-old’s greatest moments in music. However, one particular shot left her fans fuming.
In the video, Billboard included the naked waxwork figure of Taylor Swift that featured in Kanye West’s video for his track ‘Famous’.
Upon its release in 2016, the track sparked instant controversy. The video included several nude wax figures of celebrities including Swift and West (as well as Kim Kardashian, Rihanna etc.), and the song featured the lyric: “I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex / Why? I made that b**ch famous.”
The inclusion of the clip sparked outrage from Swift fans in the comments, with one person writing: “You should apologize right now. What happened was truly disgusting!!!”
“You owe Taylor Swift a public apology. Your attitude as a ‘serious’ music portal was shameful,” a second added.
A third fumed: “APOLOGIZE PUBLICLY TO TAYLOR SWIFT!!!!”
And the calls for an apology just kept coming…

Following the backlash, Billboard has since updated the post to include a “Note” in the form of an apology to Swift and the magazine’s readers.
“NOTE: We are deeply sorry to Taylor Swift and all of our readers and viewers that in a video celebrating Swift’s achievements, we included a clip that falsely depicted her,” the apology read.
“We have removed the clip from our video and sincerely regret the harm we caused with this error.”

Following the release of ‘Famous’, Swift’s representatives denied that she had approved of the lyrics, and West claimed that he had played the song for Swift and she had given her blessing.
The controversy escalated when Kim Kardashian released a series of Snapchat videos that appeared to show a phone conversation between West and Swift, in which Swift seemed to approve of the lyric. However, the full audio of the conversation was later released, and it revealed that West had not explicitly told Swift that he would call her a “b****” in the song.
Swift responded by accusing West and Kardashian of “bullying” and “character assassination.” She also claimed that the phone call had been edited to make her seem like she had approved of the lyric.

The controversy sparked a massive social media debate, with fans taking sides and famously spamming Kim Kardashian’s Instagram comments with snake emojis.

OnlyFans star who slept with 101 men in 14 hours reveals how she did it

By Nasima Khatun
An OnlyFans star who slept with over 100 men in 14 hours has revealed how she managed to do it.
Lily Phillips is a British OnlyFans creator who boasts thousands of subscribers on the adult content website as well as a whopping 530,000 followers on Instagram.
While a lot of people on the platform are known to post risqué content, creators like Phillips have taken things one step further by giving themselves ‘goals’ when filming content with willing participants.
Recently, the 23-year-old came out and said that she slept with 101 men in 14 hours – and now she’s gone into detail about how she did it.
“We had a whole waiting room, so we made sure [the participants] had a bit of time as well to go through and think about it and stuff like that and like had to obviously sign all the forms, so it gave them a little bit of like thinking time,” she said, according to JOE.
She then explained that a lot of work had already gone on behind the scenes too.
“…Obviously they’ve already applied for it like a month in advance anyway, and then, once we got in the room it was genuinely, I filmed it super amateur like I just gave them my iPhone, filmed it POV because a lot of them didn’t want their faces in it,” she continued.
“It was super like amateur filmed because… I can imagine going into an actual p*rn studio would be like so intense, camera guys, or big cameras or lights or anything like that so I skipped all that,” she added.

Phillips also said that some of the men she filmed the content with were a little bit “nervous”, but she hoped that once they got into it, they enjoyed it.
“I hoped I chilled them nerves out,” she went on to tell the outlet, before adding that the interactions between them were “respectful.”
“I had such a mixture [of people turn up],” the creator noted. “…No like one type of person showed up at all, but you know what, everyone was just super actually respectful, it was quite surprising how nice everyone was.”
Because of all the prep that night, she managed to sleep with a total of 101 men and could potentially be looking at making up to $120,000 from the content.
When discussing the setbacks of her job, she revealed that the p*rn industry still had a lot of learning to do.
“I don’t think the porn industry’s the best industry ever, it’s got a lot of learning to do because it definitely needs to be cracked down upon a little bit more I think personally,” she said.
“Obviously there’s a huge problem at the minute with like porn addictions and things like that and people put that responsibility onto like me and like OnlyFans girls or I don’t know, p*rnstars, I’m… taking some of the blame but then I don’t think it’s all blame on us,” she concluded.

Woman used dating apps to stay at different men’s homes after becoming ‘homeless’

By Nasima Khatun
A woman has found a unique way to combat being made homeless by using a dating app.
With the housing crisis leaving many people in difficult positions, it’s no wonder some people are turning to more creative methods to secure a roof over their heads for the night.
Cue Emily Webb from the Gold Coast in Australia.
When Webb was allegedly “homeless”, she turned to the tool she knew best: a dating app.
by John Phillips/Getty
While you may think it sounds strange, it actually works, according to the influencer.
The 26-year-old took to TikTok to reveal what she likes to refer to as a “life hack”, stating: “If you’re new here, I’m homeless.
“This is one of my boyfriends’ places,” she continued, referring to the apartment she was in at the time of the video. “…But I can’t believe I was wasting my money on rent all this time.
“Life hack: If you’re hot, do not ever pay rent. You can literally just go on Hinge and stay at a different guy’s place for free every single night.”
Sounds foolproof, right? But it does come with its complications as Webb revealed that she can only do it for a few nights before she’s kicked out and is back to sleeping in her car.
Speaking to News.com.au, she opened up further about her method of combatting homelessness.
“I’ve been on dating apps finding different guys’ places to stay with, and it is going surprisingly well,” she told the outlet. “I don’t usually tell them. I don’t want to put pressure on anyone. I don’t mention that I’m homeless, and I don’t think I look homeless.”
The influencer, who also does risqué street interviews on the side, noted that she has a handful of friends in the area, but she doesn’t want to “burden” them.
“I have so many friends on the Gold Coast, but I don’t want to overstay my welcome or be a burden, but I don’t mind being a burden to random men,” she added.
However, her plans quickly went downhill as she took to TikTok earlier this year to reveal that some men were catching onto her tactics, making it more difficult for her to use their apartments as a temporary home.
Because of this, she’s had to resort to reaching out to her friends and sleeping in her car more often than not.
She’s also giving the Hinge tactic a break, which we’re pretty glad to hear as going to strangers’ homes can be pretty dangerous.
Now she’s making some extra cash doing social media, so hopefully, she’ll be able to secure her own place soon.

When you think of your perfect vacation, what comes to mind? For a lot of people, they picture kicking back and relaxing on a massive ship while it sails across the vast oceans.
However, for others, they couldn’t imagine anything worse.
One passenger has ignited that fear amongst a handful of people on the internet after they recently showed what a cruise ship looks like in the dark – and let’s just say we won’t be in a rush to book one any time soon.
Many have described the viral video as “terrifying.” Credit: Anthony Devlin/Getty/MSC Cruises
Taking to TikTok, user @chasingthedream.hj posted a viral video that showed what the ocean looks like after the sun has set.
The clip, which has been viewed almost 10 million times, shows a boujee cruise ship with all the lights on on board the ship, allowing passengers to see what’s going on around them.
However, when you move away from the main part of the ship and towards the railings overlooking the sea, that’s when the real nightmare begins.
Have a look at the full video below:This has left a lot of people with a newfound fear of cruises.
“The ocean is the most terrifying place on earth but the ocean at night is just a different beast,” wrote one user, while another added: “The darkness, the depth, the power, the total helplessness… It terrifies me. I’m a marine biologist.”
A third commented: “Not only dark but whats in the dark ocean following the cruise ship…”
This person described it as a “deep black void of nothing,” adding: “The way I would grip the handrails looking at the ocean at night. It actually was terrifying…”
And this user even recalled one of their own memories, writing: “l used to work on cruise ship, that sight of absolute darkness scared me so much, I run inside in panic, never go outside and look at the ocean at night time.”
Another TikToker who also shared her experience was @victorias.way, who posted a video of her on her cabin balcony in the middle of the night – with nothing but a confronting curtain of darkness in front of her.
“After what I saw, I couldn’t sleep all night,” she wrote. “This is the most terrifying thing I’ve ever laid eyes on,” she added on the video’s overlay text.
However, others seemingly disagreed, offering up a new perspective about it all.
“I don’t know why people see this as a shock. You’re literally in the middle of the ocean. You put your trust in the staff and captains. I love cruises and all of the excursions,” this person wrote.
And this user also stated: “I work at sea… I find the darkness at night while at sea to be refreshing. When you come from somewhere saturated with light pollution, actually seeing the Milky Way is a great thing to behold.”
